We are proud of our high torque movements. Both the compact "AA" battery powered model and the full size "C" cell powered models were designed specifically for use with today’s new larger clocks. They are the most powerful quartz movements on the market today, and they were designed to solve one of the primary assembly problems that confronts everyone making larger clocks-hour and minute hand spacing! All of the high torque movements on the market today share the same problem-they are just more powerful versions of regular movements designed to accommodate regular size hands. Our new "HT" series movements were designed specifically for use with larger hands. The distance between where the hour and minute hands are installed has been increased! This increased distance will help to prevent longer hands from binding and leaves enough room to accommodate the counterweights that are commonly used on large minute hands.

This high torque movement includes the movement and mounting hardware only. Please choose from the hour and minute hands sold separately. These movements will run a second hand, but we do not recomend it because it diverts so much power away from the hour and minute hands.

The most powerful quartz movements available today. Some manufacturers of large wall clocks do not like the fact that our regular high torque movements actually shut on and off every second. This can result in a slight "wobble" in the operation of long minute hands.

Our new high torque does not shut on and off every second, so the slight "wobble" of the minute hand is eliminated.

Increased spacing between hour and minute hands

Operates on 1 "C" cell battery for longer battery life and better appearance.
